The large insurance company in my town switched the lights off in the mainframe last month. We’re now down to 1 remaining mainframe site, a bank. When I moved here 26 years ago there were about 15 sites. I can remember the carnage of the 90s when jumping to SAP was the thing. And contrary to the fluff pieces on the PlanetMainframe site those migrations did not fail.
