Either it's in the JFCB or it's handled by SJF; either way you would need 
application changes to exploit it.

I can imagine how this could be done in the Q/B SAM code since it
was being done for TAPE.  I haven't gone to look in the DCB and
related C/Bs to see where the data gets stored from the JCL at
execution time.

But, yes, a cust biz case could probably drive this one. It is an
interesting idea since C:D was dealing with similar issues for
file xfers between partners using disparate architectures.
