It is irrelevant where the blame lies for the document. I should have just said that it got the capabilities of COPYGRP and COPYGROUP switched.
You might try copying from the PDS to a temporary PDSE, and then you can unload that. You can work on where and which COPYG* would work best. I experimented some, but not with SELECT.
