I am have no experience using zIIPs but if an operator can offline one, so can
NetView using the BCPii ProcOPs interface. Your batch step could issue a WTO
that triggers an appropriate NetView Rexx script. Assuming you have NetView, of
course. :)

Subject: Re: disable zIIP usage for the remaining part of one Job

The interface to control a program usage of zIIPs is a licensed feature that
ISVs will build into their products - it is not something that is exposed to
"normal" customers.

If you wish to disable zIIP processing for a specific program step, your only
options as I see it are :

(1) Contact the vendor of the program to see if they have any runtime options
to disable the zIIP usage by their code

Or

(2) Put a "wait on WTOR" jobstep in the JCL before the program jobstep and then
manually vary the zIIP processor offline before replying to the WTOR.

Option (2) is obvious overkill - however it might be possible on a
non-production system without too many complaints :-)

Subject: disable zIIP usage for the remaining part of one Job

Dear Group,

do I have a chance to disable zIIP-usage during a job run by calling an
Assembler program which does the disable. The disable should be only for this
STEP.

Any hint appreciated, with best regards Monika
