Those pesky [] square brackets are the problem. We used to use 037 for C/C++ programs but I have made it my mission to change to 1047 in new products. Most IBM tools (DebugTool, DBX etc) default to 1047 and it's tricky if not impossible to change the codepage. It's also a PITA to have different FTP servers which is required if the client can't sent SITE commands.
