Factor is in fact a decreasing function of ENGINES. It drops off in a moderately but clearly convex way with increasing values of ENGINES. You need a table of the form
ENGINES(1) = 1 ENGINES(2) = . . . . . . ENGINES(n) = . . . There is a recent SHARE presentation that contains such a table. Unhelpfully, I cannot remember its title or who gave it.
