Hi Don, I ran into a similar issue with IE trying to access HMC's when we installed our Z10, a co-worker suggested I use Firefox and since switching I've had no issues accessing our HMC's.

Accessing the HMC is not the issue, problem occurs when attempting to drill down into Single Object Operations under IE8 and IE9 in either Tree or Classic mode. Once you get to the CPC in Single Object, able to navigate on the SE then the following error appears and session is lost: Error box appears in dicating Console applet load failure. An applet required to connect to the console failed to load. Ensure all console windows are closed before you reconnect to the session. If problem reoccurs, contact support personnel to determine if browser is configured properly.
