Even though you have to read in-between the lines in the system init and 
tuning, and
the HMC help doesn't clue you in, as I suspected the offset in the image 
profile is 
ignored if you IPL with ETRZONE / STPZONE set to YES.   No messages from NIP
either.  You just get the offset from STP or the sysplex timer.  

But now I know for sure (and so do the archives).
