Actually, the United States is effectively divided into 2 time zones, because of the TV services for Eastern and Central Time zones starting prime time at 8pm ET / 7pm CT and they repeat 2 hours later for 8pm MT / 7pm PT prime time. I would put the dividing line at 1 state west of the Mississippi river. diverting around the metro areas of Texarkana, Kansas City, etc.
