The expressions to which I refer in the quoted post are described in the only relevant IBM web site of which I am aware which deals with these matters, namely http://www-01.ibm.com/software/globalization/terminology/ It exists, it is *real*!!! Adopt it and you won't catch any more crabs[1]. Would that IBM developers -- especially the - I'm guessing - "conscript" who put together the Health Checker labels -- and the editors of IBM manuals had done the same. - [1] You'll need actually to stir your stumps and take time to put the URL in your browser in order to find out to what that refers. - Chris Mason On Wed, 4 May 2011 14:25:59 -0400, Rob Schramm <[email protected]> wrote: >Chris, > >I would successfully argue that the "universally understood, accepted and >mandated expressions" is a bit wide and not at all in synch with reality. > If it were universal, we would never be having these discussions. > >Wednesday and still Cheery, >Rob Schramm > >On Wed, May 4, 2011 at 2:16 PM, Chris Mason <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Don >> >> We are not dealing with a language - that would be another campaign such as >> getting rid of the stupid misuse of "issue" or "issues" for "problem".
