Jags, I agree with Chris, this would be better on the IMS Newsgroup. The other suggestion is not to just say I get a U1050 abend. Instead paste the entire error with all messages as well as the release of IMS and z/OS. With IMS there are supporting messages (DFSxxxxx) that will actually help you find the true error. The FAST manual for IMS is very helpful in resolving most IMS abends. I would use that for any IMS abend to find the error. For example: IMS Version ? Failure Analysis and Structure Tables (FAST) for Dump Analysis replace ? with your version of IMS. Also, GOOGLE is your friend. Always try to use the internet to search for information. It will help you to learn the IMS product and strengthen diagnostic processes. For example, I googled the FAST manual and retrieved this link. http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/ims/shelf/v7pdf/fast.pdf it is for IMS V7 but could still be helpful. There are also several REDBOOKS that will be very helpful in setting up and supporting IMS in the www.redbooks.ibm.com area. The Redbooks are sometimes easier to understand than the manuals.
