Jags In this case the "understanding what you are doing" relates to the fact you are getting an "U" abend. An "U" abend means that the program you are initiating has generated the abend so the chances this has anything to do with a START command are very slim indeed.
Incidentally, I think I was distracted by the fact you presented your MVS START command prefixed with a presumably SDSF "/" character. This tends to make it look a bit like what I vaguely recognise as an IMS command - just to confuse me anyhow! Returning to the "U0150" abend, knowing that the explanation - such as it is - was to be found in an IMS manual, this is what I found in "IMS Messages and Codes Volume 1 Version 9, GC18-7827-03": <quote> 4.3.107 0150 0150 Explanation: When either the DBRC region, the DL/I subordinate address space region, or the IMS control region abnormally terminates, the other regions are terminated with abend U150. System Action: IMS, DBRC, and DL/I subordinate address space terminate abnormally. Programmer Response: Provide a dump of the DBRC, DL/I subordinate address space, and IMS control regions. </quote> I suggest any further help you may need - other than basic education in the products you appear to have been tasked to support - will be available in the IMS-L list. Incidentally again, referring to your initial post, if you want to try to accuse "an IBM site" of providing you with incorrect information, you should quote the URL for the site so that we can judge for ourselves.
