I'd guess that they are using DSPSERV to load dataspace pages and avoid serial demand paging, but I not know. If I had time I could force dataspace sorts and dataspace paging for sort and try and figure it out from the behavior but that won't happen in the next few days. If this sort of paging is unavoidable then perhaps one should look at using HDS Cache Residency Manager or EMC's Permacahe for the Local Page datasets. I don't thing IBM have an equivalent, and Flash Drives are much slower than these locked cache methods.
