Running on Kubuntu Natty 11.04, pae kernel (had some stuff that did not
want to run on 64-bit so went for pae) I have:
1. not had success with installing ATI driver from repos... links wrong
I think
2. managed to install Catalyst 11.5 via sudo sh ./ati...run and then
sudo aticonfig --initial
I can "switch" but only by running Catalyst as root/sudo and then reboot
(logout is not enough)
It is better than running via vga-switcheroo and oss drivers in that I
am now able to do a rescue boot - that never worked with the oss drivers...
Can not say I am ecstatic but at least it now works. The cpu runs
noteably warmer using ATI then if I use Intel. As I am not a gamer I
will be setting to Intel most of the time.
