Well... ...that's the problem, and has always been: The commercial systems rule the world, because your computer comes prepackaged with them. But they lack apt-get and there is no good way of replacing it. Some programs come with their private copies of the sources of all libraries, just in case the system doesn't offer them. But that tends to create even more problems.
