Don't get two things mixed up: First, there's hugin, the software package. This is - quite deliberately - an effort separate from hugin, the program, and could just suck in lux as it is; it's just a matter of adding it to the set of binaries in the package/bundle. Packagers have not yet come forward, but I hope the recent move to CMake will help.

lux (and multiblend) _could_ be included in the Hugin Windows/OSX installers, as could the old panoglview viewer for that matter, if somebody wants to step up and do the work, but as long as they are separate codebases it will only ever be a separate package for Linux.

There is a fedora lux RPM package here: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/bpostle/panorama/packages/

..also multiblend 2.0, plus a recent Hugin snapshot which has a nice builtin panorama viewer and zooming in the preview window.

I don't have the time to engage with Yuval's huge emails, but I have to say I don't recognise his characterisation of the Hugin project. It is a stable project, it is quiet, in part because of changes in camera technology that mean that people don't need a software panorama stitcher, but also I suspect that for a lot of people wanting to stitch a panorama it does the job and they don't come here looking for help. When people do ask for help, it is generally for some advanced technique or something that nobody thought of doing before.

Sure the sourceforge, tracker, mailing list and mercurial stuff is creaking, but all this is a lot of work for somebody who understands what they are doing. If somebody gave me a month to work on whatever I liked, I would probably work on something else. Pat David offered to help bring Hugin within the pixel.us community, and I think this would be lovely, but I don't have the capacity to deal with this - who does? Solutions that come down to 'Thomas does more work' are not really solutions at all.
