In this way the field of view works (with the only difference that is 
always symmetric to the center).
For the crop it is not so easy. It may work for some projections, but not 
for all. For some projections the field of view depends on the x/y 
coordinates of the canvas. So your proposed degree value is not so easy to 
define.
