I, uh, failed to mention that *some* of the input images already had a 
green tint.
I suspect it has something to do with camera response curves, but 
regardless there should be a way to bring the outliers to normativity 
instead of alienating the rest.
(alienating? get it? little green men? No one? Okay...)
