I do not know, but I see the following: drwxr-xr-x like you on one machine, and dr-x--x--x on a machine I have installed just recently. This is more restrictive than both of yours, and apparently sufficient to make things work. Well, the first machine offloads to the second one; so I have added a file machines.scm, and the directory needs to be writable by the user. Andreas
