Installer cannot connect to the internet despite pings

Hello!
I’ve been using guix for a few months on my laptop and I’ve just built a new 
desktop to use. However, I cannot install guix, because the installer reports 
that it cannot connect to the internet, even when plugged into Ethernet. 
However, I can ping gnu.org, quad9, etc. successfully. Could anyone help 
troubleshoot?
