Diego,

I don't find your post at all confusing or convoluted.  As a matter of fact, I 
find your explanation of the various statuses very helpful.  I do think these 
different status types are useful.  They are not useful if they're not 
consistently codified, as they then become useless.  

Eystein submits that only repaired or failed should be used, but I disagree - 
this is lumping too many kinds of outcomes into either "this" or "that."  In a 
server's life, such is not usually the case.  The Repair timeout is 
particularly valuable in troubleshooting promises. Knowing why a promise fails 
by the type of failure can really cut down troubleshooting time.

Sorry, Diego, I can't really help you except to say that I think its a lack of 
consistency in the underlying code, and would encourage developers to tighten 
it up.
