"g" is arbitrary, and usually short for "global".

I have a common bundle named "g" that I use to define global classes and
variables.  For example, we store generally useful admin scripts in a
specific location, and this is set to a variable 'admbin', which is
referenced in lots of other promises as "${g.admbin}".
