Forum: Cfengine Help Subject: Does anyone do "yum update" with cfengine3 ? Author: debheller Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,22349,22349#msg-22349
I was just wondering if anyone here is using cfengine3 to do "yum update", or the cf3 equivalent, on their Redhat, CentOS or Fedora Core systems that are managed by cf3? I'm puzzling out what could be the logic for doing sane yum updates. The problem is that a kernel update, or certain lib updates, require a timely re-boot of the system. Our problem is that some production systems can only do this inside a maintenance window, while other systems (production or otherwise) are more flexible. Of course, we wouldn't want to reboot a system that has active user logins - but that can be managed by a well-known maintenance window... Has anyone here successfully tackled this sort of problem? I'm curious how others have approached it? _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
