My further investigation revealed some facts... cf-promises -Dcentral_system ./p2.cf - ok, no errors report cf-agent -Dcentral_system ./p2.cf: Fatal cfengine error: Errors in promise bundles community> cf-agent was not able to get confirmation of promises from cf-promises, so going to failsafe but, cf-agent sees "central_system" predefined class. There is no passage of predefined classes from cf-agent to cf-promises during syntax checks. I use cfengine 3.1.4. Either the core promises that come with this release are incorrect or this is unintended feature :-) Anyway, for now I use the domain name class together with system distribution class and it's ok.
