SVN would work, but I think a 100% web solution may be more friendly to new adopters. (To be honest, as a newcomer myself I have only ever used git/github!) I've worked with Twiki as well, and I agree with Diego about it's complexity. From what I've seen the community has mostly abandoned Twiki for the fork Foswiki. I've had much better experience with Foswiki and would recommend it over Twiki (if we were looking for a wiki solution). Snipplr looks pretty neat, and I do like the interface.
