Off the cuff:

Passing as an argument to a log rotation script or promise.

For setting a promise to compare the relative sizes of two files.

Checking if a file has a non-zero size, as opposed to merely existing.


IMO, it's a reasonable thing to request--a basic, simple tool.  Give the
admins tools; let them build what they need.
