I certainly agree and try to set permissions explicitly whenever I can. However in a particular instance, I have lots of subdirectories and files with ranging permissions. I only wish to do a chown -R on the root directory. With this issue I'm beginning to think I need to reevaluate how I am building cfengine. This is 3.1.0b1 static compiled on SLES 11 x86 using static dependencies (db-5.0.26, openssl-1.0.0a, pcre-8.10) running on OpenSUSE 11.3 x86_64. I had thought that if I staticly compile on x86 I could run the binary safely on my other x86_64 machines. Is that true or am I way off? =D _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
