If you don't need to dive into subdirs, it can be much simpler. You need to
change your files promise as follows:
files:
"$(HomeDir[$(HomeUsr)][5])/\..*"
edit_line => umask_update,
edit_defaults => no_edit_backup,
file_select => by_type("plain");
}
body file_select by_type(x)
{
file_types => { "$(x)" };
file_result => "file_types";
}
