It's a pretty bad notion from recent days, and I'd still strongly 
suggest everyone to not use such functions unless the goal is to 
create random crashes and HVM corruption.

Harbour's built-in .dll call support doesn't need such tricks 
to pass strings or binary structures to low-level code. They 
can and should be passed directly or by reference.
