I agree with you.

Situations like this, usually drives to a project to split between (allegedly) 'conservative' and 'agressive' developers.

IMHO, that is a false dichotomy.

The truth is that a development tool must be compact, stable, reliable, rock-solid thing and not a technical playground.

Such playground is funny and must exist, but it should be in a different place.
