We should assume that only one compiler is _configured_ 
at any given moment, regardless of the range of compilers 
installed.

User selects compiler by configuring it and letting hbmk2 
autodetection detect it. This is true when using hbmk2 
directly and should be true when using hbide (which in 
turn calls hbmk2).

I'd strongly advise against using -compiler= option 
in a hard-wired fashion to force specific compiler or 
platform.

At this point pls read my other mail first.

For special cases, like cross-platform development, 
it'd useful if you can add possibility for custom 
hbmk2 options to each 'compiler profile'.

Other solutions would result in quite many duplicate 
code and logic and keeping these in sync on various 
levels. Plus double documentation, one which applies 
when using hbmk2 directly and another one which 
applies when hbmk2 is used from hbide. We should avoid 
that situation.
