The other issue here is stable releases. If there is
no one able to test OS/2 builds, we should remove it
from the "green light" list, otherwise we will have
unnecessary delays on each official release :(
You are right to an extent.
But a note: as we are heading towards Xbase++ compatible classes,
and Xbase++ supoorts only Windows and OS2, probably we must
reconsider this decision. Anyway, I am not in a position to give a
concrete opinion on this matter.
That's okay and I'd definitely be happy if OS/2 could be
supported somehow. But again, it needs someone to do some
build tests at least.
FWIW, Alaska doesn't offer an OS/2 release of Xbase++
anymore. I don't know when did they stop. AFAIK OS/2 was
popular in Germany in the times when there was no
stable 32-bit MT OS on the market. I'd think most OS/2
users have since jumped onto some NT based OS or some
*nix.
It would be good to know what is the status of OS/2
these days, generally. Who is using it, and for what tasks?
What are the trends?
Brgds,
Viktor
