No problem, sorry for the trouble. I've already committed the tweaked solution to the SVN. (WIN32 and BGDWIN32 are needed for gd headers, and officially even MSWIN32 and _WIN32, but these aren't used).
I'm now trying to create a static GD lib and link it.
