You can make some experiments with DEFAULT_GRANULARITY, f.e.:
   set C_USR=-DDEFAULT_GRANULARITY=0x100000

there are also other settings like:
   set C_USR=-DDEFAULT_MMAP_THRESHOLD=0x100000
You can use them together.
Such switches are used to balance between memory usage and speed.
Make some tests and chose optimal values for your application.

Try it with default BCC5.5 memory manager.
