Hi Przemek,

It cannot pick sources from different dirs and/or
cannot put target into different dirs. I can't remember,
but each time I have to deal with GNU make, I end up
spending days on it without any results.

I think that I do not understand what exactly you want to do.
IMHO it can and it works for me. Can you post some example?
Maybe I'll be able to help. Now I can only guess that you missed
that paths are significant part of patterns in GNU make.

Thanks a lot, I'll give it a shot, and I'll get back to you
with specifics, as it would be essential to get rid of rmake.exe
and also to switch to MinGW/GCC.

The other thing is this insane reliance on TAB vs. spaces.

This is semantic dependent and gives quite well separation
for commands. Most of editors I use colors significant TABs
in edited Makefile(s) and I'm finding it as very clear.
But these are personal preferences only.

I use Far Manager's editor, and it doesn't show tabs
unfortunately, it would be great for other occasions, too,
as another TODO on my list is to switch to TABs from spaces
for indenting.

Maybe there is a plugin for this, I'll look around.

Brgds,
Viktor
