Hi Przemek,
Thanks for your fixes.
There are still some irregularities left in hbodbc,
other than that I've did some hopefully final fixes
to the Makefiles. These should fix some reported
problems, too.
I'd appreciate if you could help, as it's extremely
difficult to oversee the .rpm creation.
Now it should build correctly. It will be necessary to
update also make_deb.sh and make_tgz.sh
My changes seemed humble to me, most of them should
have kept existing functionality (in regards to
the include path stuff), the rest (header file
installation) were clear bugs in previous revisions.
I'm sorry if I'm messing up something, but this is
exactly the part, where we need to work together.
I'm not agains the general idea and many thanks for
your work on contrib tree. Just simply some modifications
which makes the Windows users life easier for *nix users
create additional problem. Please note that we should keep
an easy way to chose all necessary/possible to build contrib
libraries from one place or adding new port will be very
hard. Sooner or later we will add some more or less limited
support for autoconf. It will be nice if we can keep only
one autoconf script instead of adding it to each contrib
directory. I understand why you want to move the environment
testing to each contrib library and in Windows it seems to be
even resonable for me. But when I will want to make some new
port in POSIX OS then I would like to have an easy way to
update only single file instead of 20. That's all.
Once again thank you for you work on Harbour contrib libraries.
The goal is to ease things for both Windows and Linux
users. I have more experience at this moment for Windows,
but Linux is just as important.
I'm a bit "afraid" of the autoconf stuff, as I find it
a large kludge from the really few things I know about it,
hopefully I'm totally wrong. It would be nice if - even with
autoconf - we could someone keep contrib specific logic local,
and leave the generic part in one file. If this is possible
somehow.
Brgds,
Viktor
