Hi Viktor,
I've tried to answer also yesterday but somehow my messages does not show
up. HB_NOSTARTUPWINDOW is been used to reduce flickering on startup of an
application. Because the wvt uses by default a specific font size and
current setmode (80,25) to show the window if even in the start of your
application you are changing fonts and setmode you can see lot of
flickering. Maybee the way is not the best but it help a lot to reduce the
applications flickering. I'm using it under gtwvw also. I'm not sure if the
same happen with wvt but I also moved the showwindow later on the
application and the windows opening is very smooth now.

Regards
Mike Evans

Subject: [Harbour] HB_NOSTARTUPWINDOW ?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of the
HB_NOSTARTUPWINDOW GTWVT hack?

If someone is using GTWVT why is it good to _hide_
the console window?

[ We have GTGUI, which is similar to the above feature,
but much faster and without an ugly hack. ]

Also, we have a similar one, but compile-time in GTWIN,
named HB_NO_ALLOC_CONSOLE. Do we need this? Isn't
GTGUI enough for those who don't want a window?

Brgds,
Viktor
