Maurilio,

not to start a dispute on this issue, but while it is true that IBM is no more
selling OS/2 to end-users, the OS, for end-users, is now on the hands of the
eComStation guys which are doing a really good work in enhancing/supporting
it.

You can go to www.ecomstation.com to see.

No doubts, but ... I've read recently that IBM has refused to release OS/2
sources under *any licence* to a comunity, and this *absolutly* means that
OS/2 is dead. I guess you will not be able to install it on new machines
because a hardware has enhanced so much that it is incomatible with OS/2.
So the only choice is to install it on old machines, which slowly become
unaccessable (of course I did not try it - it's a pure speculation :)).

That said, I think that your problems come from the use of a build system
which is not uptodate.

Well, that's what I've found on a net. Do you mean that there is more
recent gcc than 3.3.5 and more recent ld ? I used a build downloaded
from eComStation.org, and together with EMX it works.

Try, if you're willing to spend some time, www.smedley.info, there you'll find
paul's gcc build environment which should get you going (select 'my port of
unix tools to os/2' and then tools on the left frame-bar).

I'm not using it, but with that tool chaing, Paul has ported a lot of software
to OS/2, even complex software like mysql, for example.

Well, I am not sure when I'll be able to get access to OS/2 again :(.

Sadly I don't have time right now to download and test harbour on OS/2.

You can, but I fear you have different problems, look at xharbour OS/2 .cf
files which work ok.

If they are able to build harbour.dll, maybe it's worth to look at them :).
But Harbour's make_gcc.sh + make_gcc.mak + common.mak works ok currently
for OS/2 static builds.

Thanks for your input :).
