Gabriel’s requests on GCD 008 indeed appeear to be sealioning, repeating discussion again and again. The request to wait on experts in this developing law only shows slow progress. GEMA is about to win a lawsuit against Suno Inc. who copied songs in full to their model parameters, when the TDM exception only permits “evaluating” the songs. [1] But these copyright violations are blatant; it will IMHO take much longer until we see decisions on copying code, like it took long until a decision on Wine’s reverse-engineering of Windows APIs. Meanwhile some of Gabriel’s thoughs regarding GCD 001 https://yhetil.org/guix-devel/[email protected]/ may/should be useful.
