Not always; Only if the user has installed through guix-install.sh. If not, it depends on the distro's package and I think most (if not all) of them do just use /usr/bin/guix-daemon. guix-install.sh installs the guix-daemon service to refer to root's current-guix profile, ie. /var/guix/profiles/per-user/root/current-guix/bin/guix-daemon.
