Hi all,

Speaking strictly for me here:

My margins are not razor sharp, they are negative. That is to say, my
consulting activity is a way for me to finance my guix and Plan 9
related activities. I don't make any money out of guix-hosting.com, the
fees cover the costs of the servers + a small margin, and I spend more
time on it than the margin is worth, when compared to my mean daily fee
for consulting.

So giving away money from the sales would make no sense for me, if money
was of the essence, everybody would be better off if I took one more
consulting client and gave money out of that.

But I'm trying to give back in other ways: my contribution to the the
recent vfs-mapping and shared-cache services are an example of something
that happened thanks to my commercial guix activity, and once I get the
physical server running, I intend to make some of that infrastructure
public.

I will see what my fiscal position is at the end of the next fiscal year
(which for me runs from sept. to august) and I'll certainly consider
participating to the common fund if I'm in a position to do so then.

Also I need to get out of the house more and participate to the IRL
events in Paris that Tanguy is hosting.

So the idea is nice, and I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't think I
can afford it exactly that way right now.

Cheers,

Edouard.
