Hi, The main issue why removal provokes a lot of discussion is a fact that the current package corpus has about %2 of broken, not touched for years, abandoned in upstream, having tests issues, or not compatible with some updated input - which occupie computeninal resources if CIs producing 0 (zero) output.
And it's hard (speaking for python team) to fix them all easealy. If I have my garden (stronomy) I try to gardening it periodically - plant new, trim growing, remove passed by. From other side "guix build -v1 -P1 go@1.24 -P1 go@1.23" produces 100% on x86_64 so I have a high moral to maintain that state.
