I think it's good to have *some* sort of agreed-upon convention for the
contents and style of commit messages, and I think that that's a rather
uncontroversial opinion.  I don't think it'd be useful or productive to
establish a consensus of "letting go of the GNU ChangeLog style" until
there's a clear and specific proposal for new conventions.

I personally quite like the double spaces convention, it helps
monospace readability a lot imo, but I imagine that most people aren't
used to double spacing.
