Same here. And using <> {} for (sub-)sub-sub-headings if the need
arises; I think this is our main difference compared to the GNU commit
message style.

As for whether it is useful, I have ended up using it voluntarily for
all my projects, as I tend to look back with "git log"...
Alternatively, in another project, I have just seen the two commit
messages "more" and "detail" go by...
I would be happy with slightly less detail in the commit messages,
but think it is good to keep them informative and to follow some kind
of convention.
