As I understand it the Guix Foundation has a mission of:

goal of promoting, using and developing software and operating systems that
respect users’ freedoms, supporting in particular usages in research and
education without any commercial goal. The Association is specially dedicated
to supporting the GNU Guix project.

Thanks to Julien's (I think) translation of the Statutes [0].

Yeah, I did just read the translated section on the Solidarity Advisory Council
and it made my head spin!

But, what I got was that they are a representation of all the members, and two
of them sit on a Board with the President and Treasurer to make all the
executive decisions on behalf of the members.

It makes sense that we want clarity over how the two are related. It looks like
the Council is voted in from the members at the General Assembly. So not quite
sure whether that should be set as a Team, or how it would work. Probably Simon
and Tanguy can chime in with how they understand it.

We don't necessarily need a Team to clarify how it all fits together. For
example, Gentoo do quite a nice job on their Wiki explaining how they are
organised [1]. I'm sure we could do something similar.

Heh!

Agreed, the fact that we have a servicable bank account that can receive money.
And that the Foundation is able to pay for things is really good news.

Also - for those of you who may not know - want to take a moment to appreciate
all the hard work that Simon, Andreas, Julien, Tanguy (and I'm sure others)
have put into the Foundation/GCD's - it's really great!
