Well, I wondered whether or not to apply the patch, but since it had a CVE, I thought solving it would be the more urgent action. A patch and news item would be welcome, and I hope that someone using postgresql (maybe that is you? or Efraim who already replied?) can then chime in and provide a more substantial opinion than I could give.
