I don't think there is a guideline, but there is tradition (sometimes
not followed) of conventional names for GNU mailing lists, which are:

  info-...@gnu.org  help-...@gnu.org  bug-...@gnu.org  foo-de...@gnu.org

I agree that such name might feel more “natural” in some sense.
Nonetheless I don't think it makes sense to break a convention for such
little benefit.

So I encourage everyone to stop following their mood of the day in
regards of choosing a name.  Please!  :)
