This comes across to me as unnecessarily mean-spirited toward two regulars here. I would like to think anyone on this list can feel free to post answers that may turn out to be incorrect without fear of ridicule. No one (save possibly Werner) knows every nook and cranny of the groff system inside and out, so we're all learning. At this stage you know more than many of us, but you're still surprised by things too. (I'm sending this to the list rather than privately not because I'm spoiling for a public flame war, but so that others can call me out if they think I'm overreacting, or being hypocritical in my response. If either of those is the case, I'd genuinely like to know.)
