I'd still like a monthly competition. Perhaps the solution is to reduce the workload for the referees. Why not change to a format, where the solutions do not need refereeing until the end. Then you only need to do everybodys best (working) solution once. This would cut down on the amount of work it is to referee a round. The other advantage of this is that referees can also play. Maybe you would keep one non-playing referee who could take care of BoB and occasional solution verification. The problem of 'fake' solutions is not really something I would worry about. has it been a problem with the minigolfs that just use the report-score format? and if the final scores are going to be verified anyway at the end, it doesn't really matter what happens in the middle.. We'd soon work out who is honest about their score reporting. Geoff. just some ideas..
