I'm thinking along those lines. I made some progress last night, but I might
just do one and work on the other even after the tourney has closed.

Since I'm doing this to improve my programming skills, this might be a good
idea. Actually, if a team could be formed with some other experienced
programmers that wouldn't mind a novice along that would be another way.
Since this is a competition though, it might not play well....
My biggest problem really has not been Perl in itself, but is figuring out
how to do something. What I mean is, I can see how the Cantor fractal is
made, but how do I implement it in Perl... Most of my work experience is on
the network side, and it's been only the last 2 years that I've forayed into
Perl. All that has been involved in web/db/cgi type stuff.... So, enough
whining, I need to pick my next club!
